Earn Extra Money

I want to continue on from the last post talking about the marketers online whom I have found give value and appear honest and true to their word. I’m having a little laugh to myself as I think about this. ‘Oxymoron’ is the word that comes to mind. For those who are not familiar with the term the word oxymoron is a rhetorical device in which two seemingly contradictory words are used together for effect. My point is do these people exist? I certainly hope so.

I have already mentioned Andre Chaperon’s blog and his work with Brent Hall. These are the guys you will only hear from when they have something worth looking at.(By the way, the 100 copies of their latest product Presell Robot sold out in no time this morning.) Anyway, I was trying to put into words what it is about some marketers whom you come across online whom you feel you can trust and why and I believe that it is the ethical nature of their focus.

Amir Darwish is another young man with a quality about him. As I mentioned in a previous post, he is responsible for the tool Xtreme Conversions which is a great tool used to determine which keywords produced those affiliate sales. After posting these videos, he posted the keywords he used in Google as well as the keywords and sites that generated sales for him in the Xtreme Conversions forum. By his own admission the case study was thrown together very quickly and it was rather sloppy but it was an education and the basis for further tweaking. He showed the first step to testing a market. From there he explains the need to build a number of landing pages for the different keyword groups and collect email addresses. An Opt In list is the biggest asset you can have in this business. Instead of selling to your visitors once, you sell to them an infinite number of times as long as you can be honest with them and give them value.

When Amir first began Internt Marketing back in 2006 he believes he was fortunate enough to have found Wealthy Affilate . Apparently he is one of their success stories together with many others who owe their success in IM to Wealthy Affiliate. It is the little gestures that some marketers make to those in their list through bonuses that you do not often hear about and makes a difference. You may have remembered the launch of a product that Jeff Wellman brought out last year called Layoff Your Boss. Amir bought the resale rights to the package and gave it away as a bonus to his customers. The package is a good overview for beginners and it has good interviews with some very successful marketers such as Harris Fellman, Keith Wellman, Simon Leung, Frank Sousa and Heather Vale. These posts are pretty much a continuation of the time line of my experience with Internet Marketing up until now. There is a lot more to come. I’m yet to talk about anther partnership I stumbled across in my travels. The names of these guys are Edward Charkow and Eric Gehler from Website Monthly. Thank God for the good guys.

“Most people I know think that I’m crazy”. It sounds like a good title for a song. That too… but most people I know would like to earn extra money. The burning question is how?

I have been struggling for a while with ideas for this blog. I registered the domain name 2ezym8.com a couple of years ago because I liked the name. I saw an Australian movie “Gettin’Square” about 5 years ago and one of the lines in the movie was ‘too easy mate‘..so very typical Australian describing someone being able to get a job done without a fuss. I wanted to get into internet or affiliate marketing as a way of earning extra money and thought to myself ‘too easy mate’. yeah right!!!

I have read of so many people in a similar situation to mine. Most of us seem to follow a similar path. We begin by buying an eBook. In my case it was Adwords Miracle and Affiliate Project X. There was a lot of information to absorb for someone new to the game. It was exciting and frightening at the same time. I realised that if I didn’t get this formula right that I could lose money I didn’t have. This was followed by Day Job Killer and more information!!

There were people out there promoting all different types of income producing schemes…. or should I say ’scams’ in some cases. To put it bluntly, the gurus out there confused the hell out of me. Where do you start? Will I try a lttle bit of this, a little bit of that. I spent hours and hours chasing my tail. I feel as if I still waste a lot time chasing my tail. Let’s move on.

The first membership site I ever joined was David Moore’s Super Apprentice. With this membership, Dave gives you a number of subjects every month and you are required to produce or create about 20 to 30 articles on this topic and submit them to the turnkey software, follow the step-by-step strategies and build a virtual empire of websites that work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

All I had to do was organise a domain name and the web hosting and then come up with 20 to 30 articles on a subject I knew absolutely nothing about. I registered the domain name through 1&1 Internet because at the time they were only about $USD 6 a year and the cheapest I could find. I organised the web hosting through Hostgator costing about $USD 9.95 per month. I’m sure that they have better deals nowadays.

Super Apprentice was a great experience. The management and the others in the forum were very helpful. They recommended that you produce 5 sites a month and after five months you would be earning $USD 1000 per month and this came with a money back guarantee. Naturally there were conditions that the ‘apprentice’ followed the program.

The only thing was that I couldn’t justify the $USD 100 a month I was paying because I just couldn’t keep up. I was never going to be able to keep up with the program unless I could come up with another $USD 900 a month to have the articles written for me. When I started writing articles for the first web site I put together on Interior Design, I was concerned that the articles I wrote had to be perfect. In the process, I end up spending too much time on them. I’d worry more about what to write and how to write the articles than actually writing them. While others were punching out five or six or even more articles a day. I was struggling to write one article.

For the second topic on Buildings For Sale, I used their article writing service. For about $150 they organised the 20 articles I requested using the keyword tool that came with the membership. Unfortunatley I wasn’t happy with the quality of the articles and ended up rewriting a lot of them myself. I keep telling myself that they do not have to be perfect. Same with this post ‘It doesn’t have to be perfect.’

Unfortunately I didn’t last the five months but I highly recommend them. With the membership you get free consultations, free upgrades, free evaluations on the work you produce, software goodies and high page rank text links.

I have come across some guys out there in cyberspace who I trust and I do value their opinion. In the real world, I allowed myself to be scammed big time by a Greek bastard I thought I could trust. Understandably, my confidence in my ability to pick out the trustworthy ones is at an all time low. You live and learn.

Anyway, I stumbled across Andre Chaperon after reading one of Chris McNeeny eBooks Affiliate Project X . He put together a Clickbank case study during the Christmas of 2006 which I found very interesting. If you didn’t read it then you really missed out. It was described as quite simply the best single source of information on the subject (including paid eBooks) and it was free.

He recommended the Multiplier Method from his friend Brent Hall which I purchased. In the preamble he emphasises that the material is not about adsense and not for newbies. Brent continued to send me material via email that was a bit hard for me to use as a relative newbie but brilliant stuff.

Another internet marketer who Andre recommended was Amir Darwish. He is responsible for the tool Xtreme Conversions which is a great tool used to determine which keywords produced those affiliate sales. I want to spend more time time telling you about the great support this guy gives to the subscribers to his lists. I’ll expand on this more in my next post.

Andre has now set up another site called Marketing Bully. Here he sets out a step-by-step blueprint for creating multiple mini-income streams. He and Brent are also promoting a new product PresellRobot. This product has been in the pipeline for quite a while and will change the way in which you promote products by helping to craft presell pages. Should be interesting to say the least.
